Random Cuteness!

Hi everyone! Val here, with some random cuteness i just had to share! First of all Summer has officially begun where I’m at and it always puts me in the mood for crafting -especially with my kids! Here’s some fun stuff I’ve found that’s on my list of MUST-MAKES this summer!

When i saw these adorable little rings i knew immediately we HAD to make them! They’re made from those cute resin/plastic roses and inexpensive ring bases you can find at any craft store! I thought it’d be so fun to use buttons too! The tutorial to make these are here

The next fun thing I’m dying to do this summer is to crochet flowers! I’ve always wanted to make a bunch and use for wrapping presents or headbands and even a pillow for my daughter’s bed….You can find the tutorial for these here

Next on my list are these wall frames! I mean, really! How flipping FUN are these!!! It’s a MUST-MAKE!!! I can’t wait to try these puppies out! You can find the tutorial here.

Then, I found this…..it’s a twirly toy made from wire and a drawing….seriously wow! Gotta try this too! Tutorial for this can be found here

Do you love summer!?!?!

Do you love summer?? I *LOVE* summer!! It’s not my most favorite season of the year but it’s close!! There are just so many things that you can *ONLY* do in summer that I (and my whole family actually) really look forward to it coming around!! I mean I can read in any season and I can scrap in any season and I can photograph things in any season and I can sew….well you get my drift but one of my all time favorite hobbies is swimming and I can only do that in the summer. So when that sun starts shining and the water in our pool warms up I can’t wait to dip my toes in that crystal clear water!!! *lol*

The other day my kids and I were just sitting around talking and I asked them what they were looking forward to about summer and between the 7 of us we came up with a list of things we just love about summer!!! And of course I just had to scrap about it, so here is our list of 35 amazing things about summer that we love!!!

Designer Spotlight: Krista Sahlin & Jenn Barrette

Hi Everyone!! Hope you had a fab-u-lous day!! It’s Patti here with the Designer Spotlight. My ‘mission’ was to pick someone who has ‘collab-ed’ with Jenn in the past and put them on the ‘hot seat’. Of course, I jumped at the chance to interview one of my favourite and uber talented designers, Krista Sahlin, of Sahlin Studio.

What did you enjoy most about working with the uber talented Jenn Barrette?Jenn and I just have a similiar ‘vibe’. We both get the feel we are going for with any particular kit.

What would you say is your ‘favourite’ touch that Jenn has added to your collabs?Jenn is amazing with inspiration. She can send over a color swatch to me, with a few pictures for inspiration, and I will be drooling. So it’s hard ever to say no to that girl! HAHA!

Which one of the collabs was your favourite and why?Oh goodness, this is a toughie. But I think I’d chose Vintage Carnival. Oh how I love Vintage Carnival. It represents everything about the ‘end of summer’. And I think that we both captured it in a timeless way.

**I have to admit, this is my favourite collab between Jenn and Krista too!! They totally rawked this one. Wouldn’t you agree? :)

Krista, tell us something entertaining or a ‘funny secret’ about your experience in working aside Jenn to create these masterpieces? Does she have any ‘obsessions’?Perhaps it’s just me… but I think Jenn is really speedy. <grin> Yup, sometimes I even think I’m ahead of the game…. then, as usual she’s waiting for me to finish up with something.

May Desktop Freebie!

Becca here with a desktop freebie!

May is here (can you believe it?!), and so it is time to freshen up your desktop with a gorgeous wallpaper. I created this using one of Jenn’s newer kits, Hoppity Hop, Easter’s on the Way. I just love the fresh, springy colors and the gorgeous flowers that come in this kit! And once you plug in that photo of your special someone (or someones) it will bring a smile to your face every time you turn your computer on!

To use it, all you need to do is download the correct size for your computer. Open it up in your software program, put a photo in the space provided and save as a jpeg. Once you have the jpeg saved on your computer, right click the thumbnail and click “set as desktop background.” Your new desktop background should appear.

You can either download the 1024 x 768 background or the 1280 x 800 background.
